Pastor Paul A. Evans.
Married to his best friend, Jacqueline Acosta Evans. They have three fantastic adult children,
Katherine, Michael, and Kayla all of San Antonio. Their pride and joy are their four grandchildren, Levi – 11,
Jackson – 9, Charlotte – 1 and Ananda (5 months). They all live in San Antonio. They will get to spend
much more time with them in the future.

Pastor Evans states that they 'are delighted to be appointed to Oak Island and look
forward to getting to know you and join you in ministry. We are expected God to do great things.'


Pastor Evans graduated from the McMurry University, Abilene, Texas in 1989 with a Bachelor of Business
Administration. He then went on to graduate from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University,
Dallas, Texas in 2007 with a Master of Divinity. He is a Board-Certified Chaplain by the National
Association of Veteran Affairs Chaplains and has been employed as a Staff Chaplain at the Department of
Veterans Affairs for the past ten years. Pastor Evans has worked at three VA Medical Centers: Battle Creek, Michigan.
Alexandria, Louisiana and Amarillo, Texas and will be retiring from the VA at the end of September. He worked for West Texas Utilities Company from 1990-2000 and has now been in ministry for 27 years.
The past three years he's been appointed to Vega Methodist Church in the West Plains Conference of
the Global Methodist Church and is an ordained elder in the GMC.


Pastor Evans has served as a local church pastor from 1998-2009 in the Disciples of Christ and United Methodist
Churches. After having served in the Texas Army National Guard on both the enlisted and officer side as
a Combat Engineer, Chaplain Evans continued his military service and was direct commissioned as
Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve in March 2008. He was a Fleet Marine Force Chaplain in the
United States Navy Reserve from 2008-2016 and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in
2011-2012.


He has two sisters, both of which are Optometrists. His older sister lives in Kerrville, and younger
sister lives in Midlothian. Pastor Evans is also a Mason and a Shriner and for the past two years has served the
Amarillo Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star as Worthy Patron.
